FORMER COMPAQ PRESIDENT MICHAEL SWAVELY JOINS ARTISOFT
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Artisoft Also Announces Re-Organization And Promotions
(TUCSON, AZ -- March 30, 1992) -- Artisoft, Inc.,
announced today that Michael Swavely, the former
President of Compaq Computer Corporation's North
American operations, is joining Artisoft's Board of
Directors.
Swavely brings eleven years of executive experience
with both start-ups and Fortune 100s in the high-tech
industry. As a key executive in the original start-up
team of Compaq Computer Corporation, he contributed to
one of the most successful start-ups in business
history -- Compaq joined the Fortune 500 in a record
three years and surpassed $1 billion and $2 billion in
sales faster than any other company in history.
Swavely left Compaq in early 1991 and currently serves
on the Board of Directors and as Strategic Consultant
for MIPS Computer Systems of Sunnyvale, California.
"With his winning track record in high-tech, start-
up companies, we believe Michael Swavely will prove to
be an excellent addition to the Board," stated Jack
Schoof (pronounced "shoaf") Artisoft President and
CEO.
Artisoft also announced that it has reorganized its
Sales & Marketing Division to include the management
of worldwide sales from Tucson as well as the creation
of a new strategic group, the Business Analysis and
Alliance Department.
Dave Hallmen, Vice President of Sales & Marketing,
will now assume total responsibility for worldwide
sales including North American, European, Latin
American and Australian.
Ken Davis, former Director of Marketing, is the new
Director of the Business Alliance and Analysis
Department, a new strategic group which will be
responsible for product positioning and building
alliances within the industry.
Joe Waldygo, former Public Relations Manager, has
been promoted to Director of Marketing & Public
Relations and will assume responsibility for Marketing
Communications, Product Marketing and Public
Relations.
Mac McKinley has been promoted to Director of North
American Sales and will be in charge of Artisoft's
Business Development Group, Inside Sales, Customer
Service, Telemarketing and Major Accounts.
Eileen Daily, former Product Manager in
Engineering, has been promoted to Director of Product
Management. Daily, who has been with the company since
1988, will be responsible for maintaining and updating
Artisoft's core group of products.
Artisoft also announced that Adrian King, former
Vice President of Engineering, has resigned from
Artisoft to pursue other interests. King's
responsibilities have been reassigned to Alex
Karahalios, Vice President of Research & Development
and Eileen Daily, Director of Product Management.
